Theme
Supervertaler supports light and dark themes. Switch between them in View → 🎨 Theme Editor…: choose a theme under Theme and click ✓ Apply.
Why use Dark Mode
- Better comfort in low-light environments
- Reduced eye strain during long evening sessions
- Lower screen brightness without sacrificing readability
Switching themes
The change takes effect immediately – no restart needed. All panels (grid, companion tabs, dialogs, popups) switch at once.
Since v1.10.372, a dark theme (such as Dark) also adjusts the panels and boxes that have colours of their own, chosen for a light background – for example the Clipboard Manager columns and the info boxes in the TMs, Termbases and SuperLookup tabs. White and pale backgrounds become dark, tinted ones become a dark shade of the same colour, and dark text becomes light. Strong colours, such as the orange, blue and green buttons, stay as they are. Switching back to a light theme restores the original colours.
Tips
- If any UI element looks visually wrong after switching (rare Qt repaint quirk), try switching to a different tab and back, or restarting the app
- Dark mode does not affect PDF Rescue’s OCR output or exported DOCX files – those are document colours, not UI colours
